EuroPride 2025 won’t just be a celebration — it will be a scream of resistance. At a time when hard-won rights for the LGBTI+ community are under threat around the globe, Lisbon will take the stage as the site of an international mobilization determined to push back against the rising tide of regression that endangers decades of progress.
What should be a moment of visibility, celebration, and solidarity now carries a deeper significance: to act as a barrier against the normalization of discrimination, indifference to hate speech, and institutional passivity. EuroPride 2025 Lisbon is, above all, a turning point.
“EuroPride goes beyond pride itself. We’re not just celebrating — we’re protecting lives, defending rights, and securing safety and the future. What’s at stake extends far beyond our community: it’s about democracy, freedom, and human dignity” – says the EuroPride Lisbon 2025 organizing team.
From the revocation of trans rights to institutional persecution of activists, attacks on freedom of expression, and the criminalization of dissident bodies — the global outlook is alarming. Anti-LGBTI+ rhetoric is increasingly embedded in mainstream political discourse across various European countries.
Against this backdrop, Lisbon is preparing to welcome thousands of voices from around the world, united in a clear mission: to break this cycle of oppression. Lisbon responds with urgency and courage, inviting the world to rise to the challenge.
